COMMON PLACE

Common Place takes users on a unique journey that reflects the unfamiliar and often confronting experience immigrants may face. Taking inspiration from the book ‘The lost thing’ by Shaun Tan who illustrates a sense of belonging and un-belonging through moments of play, the design aims to act as a living thing, a friend, and a social ground that uses strong vertical and horizontal circulation through the large central void and staircase.

“My body is truly the navel of my world, not in the sense of the viewing point of the central perspective, but as the very locus of reference, memory, imagination and integration”
