Interior - Honours (Interior Design)
E L I R A aims to give a second chance at belonging and contributing to a healthy community and to fundamentally rehabilitate ex-prisoners at a level a prison cannot. The space will enable users to effectively transition from an institutionalized environment in order to again belong to and contribute to a community. Stepping away from the commercial development that surrounds Fortitude Valley and instead developing a residential space that takes a universal approach with a focus on the wellbeing of residents and developing a community that seeks to make ex-prisoners better neighbors, better employees, and better citizens.
Design of any kind is extremely powerful. It is not just about space but creating a place. I believe that Interior design should aim to provoke a bodily experience that engulfs us, touching our hearts and all our senses. Whilst still new to the industry I believe that my passion, past life experiences, excitement for the future and drive sets me apart from the rest. I am inspired and excited to finally begin working within the design industry. I am passionate about creating unique but functional spaces that encourage interaction between the user and the environment.
