SERENDIPITY

SERENDIPITY is defined as the occurrence and development of events that by chance end in a beneficial way.
SERENDIPITY is a restaurant that examines the issue of convenience and economic value causing an increase in fast food consumption which leads to a QUICK and FORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE
and UNSUSTAINABLE PRACTICES. To remedy these issues SERENDIPITY proposes to implement a hospitality venue that encompasses slow design principles to impart the knowledge of the sustainable practice known as slow consumption to young working professionals in a post COVID-19 world.
A food experience that subtly teaches the sustainability technique of slow consumption, subconsciously triggering a response from the user to be more sustainable in their day to day lives. This
‘taught’ by using food, drink and most importantly design. SERENDIPITY will make a user pause and consider the environment surrounding them, this has been done by playing with COMPRESSION
AND ELEVATION. Using staggering levels to create different levels of social interaction.
The base idea behind SERENDIPITY will be able to be implemented ANYWHERE across the globe allowing cities to create unforgettable food experiences that impart the knowledge of sustainable
food practices. SERENDIPITY is a central hub where the community can gather to socialise and have a shared experience which create beautiful memories which entices them to return.

Adara Mehlhopt

Majoring in Interior Design with a minor in Interactive and Visual Design, Adara Mehlhopt believes that Interior Design is an underrated medium of expression, considering that humans spend 85% of their life indoors. I believe in improving person-environment experiences to create a sense of place. Expressing narratives through space and form.
