THE EDGII CENTRE IS BRISBANE’S FIRST INTERGENERATIONAL EDUCATION PLAY PRECINCT FOR SOCIALISATION AND INCLUSIVITY, GROUNDED IN INDIGENOUS CONNECTION, FOR BOTH FORMAL AND INFORMAL MENTORING EDUCATION. THE INTERIOR DESIGN INVITES ALL AGES TO REIMMERSE THEMSELVES IN SENSORY PLAY FOR LEARNING, WITH EACH MATERIAL TOUCH-POINT OFFERING A UNIQUE CONVERSATION STARTER ABOUT THE SUSTAINABILITY AND PROTECTION OF
COUNTRY.

T H E C O N C E P T

AS A REINVIGORATION OF POST OFFICE SQUARE, A SITE NESTLED IN THE HEART OF BRISBANE CITY, THE CONCEPT AIMS TO CELEBRATE OUR FIRST NATION’S TEACHING AND LEARNING TRADITIONS BY CREATING A ‘THIRD PLACE’ OF UNDERSTANDING AND CONNECTION. USER’S ARE INVITED TO CONNECT WITH OTHER SELF-STARTER EDUCATION SEEKERS ON THE EDGII APP, TO MEET AND MENTOR OTHERS AT THIS EXPERIENTIAL AND SUPPORTIVE NEW LEARNING CONCEPT.

AT THIS PARTICULAR SITE, THE THRESHOLD OF OUR PAST AND PRESENT WILL MEET THE INCLUSIVENESS OF INTERGENERATIONAL EDUCATION PRACTICE, TO CELEBRATE THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF ALL WITHIN CENTRAL MEANJIN AND GREATER QUEENSLAND.

THE DESIGN OFFERS MULTIPLE IMMERSIVE MEETING EDUCATION PLACES, A PUBLIC CAFÉ AND TRANSITIONAL RETAIL OFFERING, PUBLIC EDUCATION KITCHEN, VIRTUAL REALITY EXPERIENCES, CULTURAL SPACES AND GALLERIAS. THE SITE IS INTENDED TO CHANGE WITH IT’S USER’S CONTRIBUTION, OFFERING A PROTECTED SPACE FOR GROWTH AND ABUNDANCE.
